THE FIFA O8 OFFSIDE CUP – Weekend Action!

First off, thanks for the participation folks. We are half way through, with some more games to go. But this is shaping up nicely!

Here are a few tidbits of importance. Enjoy.

UPDATES and NOTES:

+ Today by 5pm, Valencia, Celtic and Marseille will need to contact me or you will be replaced in the tournament
+ Groups B and C are now fully loaded. Most games are expected to be played this week.
+ Group F continues to lag, but that may be taken care of by tonite if I find a Celtic and a Marseille.

RESULTS:

GROUP A

Fulham 0 – 1 Everton
With a goal in the 80th minute or so, Everton leaves Fulham gasping for life – and my tournament participation seems all but over. Good job MichFan Dave!

GROUP B

Arsenal 0 – 1 Chelsea
What a great win for the writers! Jon at the DC Offside scores the first win for us. Represent brother!

GROUP D

Red Bulls 1 – 1 Boca Jrs.
For those that do not know, my brother is Boca Jrs in the tournament. And these two teams are my favorites. So imagine the thrill of being able to WATCH this game LIVE!
It was all Red Bulls early, as Claudio Reyna RAMMED one into the back of the net!
2nd half saw a recharged Boca Jrs. tie the game on a wide open Palermo strike. Really fun to watch

GROUP G

Roma 6 - 0 Hamburg
Roma advances by DEMOLISHING all competition! Sweeping Real Madrid, Barcelona and Hamburg with ease. Early favorites? You bet.

  The Boca game was great Papa . . . but 2nd half, he did dominate more so.
