The Season Starts Tomorrow: W Connection

By: Dave Martinez | July 29th, 2009

The CONCACAF Champions League is now, officially, the only important competition left for these cellar dwelling Red Bulls to play. In their way stands five time TnT Champions W Connection, who have overrun Joe Public as the premier squad out of the small Island Nation.

The Bulls will not be able to overlook their opponents, as most opponents have had the tendency to overlook them. The team is in shambles, and in desperate need of some form of success to awaken the squad, and ignite interest in the fan base. With 2010 around the corner, and Red Bull Arena looming in wait, the club can not afford to continue on this road to destitution.

On our last poll, I had asked you how you would want to end this season. A basic 30/30 split highlighted the fan bases want for a strong end to the season, and a championship showing in the Champions League final. Lofty goals, but for a team that waltzed into 2009 in expectations of making a Cup run, it is the least the club could achieve at this point.

The game will be broadcast tomorrow from Trinidad with an 8pm starting time. Check it out on FSC. And, if there is any interest, we can do a running commentary. Let me know.
