FIFA 08 - THE OFFSIDE CUP - GROUP DRAW!

Ok, I know you have been waiting patiently. So here it is.
Below is the list of divisions for this tourney. The actual VIDEO of the draw (in case ANYONE accused me of sabotage!) is right before the list. Fair warning - the video cuts out before the last team is drawn. (and yes, it IS a bucket, cut up copy paper and yellow post its - what did you expect? Golf balls with your names picked out of a velvet sack?!?!)
So here we are!
Only the writers were separated into groups (A through D with Myself, Gian, Jon and Corey heading the lists respectively).
Group B and C are CLEARLY the groups of death, but you have to love Group G with Barce and Real Madrid!
REMEMBER! UNLIKE the World Cup, the group stage will involve 2 games against each opponent, home and away. More playing time for everyone.
We also need a few days to contact all the players, set up the actual tourney, and get the ball rolling. My estimated tourney time would be next week, Monday. I will confirm a date soon. SO GET PRACTICING!

Yea tom, B is a bastard of a group. I feel for my boy Jon at the DC United Offside - and I swear there was no DC BIAS in the draw!
Eric doesnt necessarily have it easy either. Barcelon and Real Madrid? Ooof. And someone who wants to be Hamburg MUST be good with em. Tough group.
My group features a good pal of mine and fellow Metrolover MichFan (Dave). And he is a tough one to beat, especially with a power team like Everton. And Palermo and valencia are highly underrated teams. Those boys in Pink can play!

Corey - you are group D with Lyon. You lucked out and missed being in Groups B or C (me too btw).
The Red Bulls are there, whom I am rooting for.
Boca juniors with Riquelme is a tough battle. As is Fiorentina. Its a group that has a little bit of everything.

- Just got a few questions Dave:How are we supposed to report / submit the results? Shall we email them to you or just write them here on the forum? And will we be able to see the tables through the tourney? Do you tell us when to play who? or shall we just play all our games on randoms times after our wish?

Epic video draw, Dave! If the leagues are just open for a while, I might be able to get in on this. I’ll be out from Saturday the 8th through Friday the 14th. If it’s feasible to do a 2-week group stage, count me in. If that’s pushing things too long, though, don’t make an exception for me.
