YAHOO!!! We own 10% of the 20 BEST MLS PLAYERS!
By: Dave Martinez | February 21st, 2008
Put this under the “MEANINGLESS POLLS FROM REPUTABLE SOURCES” category.
Yahoo! has once again graced us with their professional soccer opinions! This time around, they rank the top 20 players in the MLS, all based on past league merit, with a slight basis on past ability. Meaning Marcelo Gallardo will not make the list.
How well did we do? Well, read the blog title! And it gets better!
But first, in the great honor of misleading information through journalism (I learn it from the New York Times), I must confess, 10%, though a nice sized percentage, is meaningless. Fact of the matter is, Los Angeles has 10% also. Take it for what its worth.
The one thing we CAN claim over the GALS is that we have 20% of the top 10! Ah I love percentages . . . .
10. Juan Pablo Angel, forward, New York Red Bulls – A proven finisher who added an edge to the Red Bulls franchise.
I LOVE knowing that people fear our offense.
Now if we could only get the same respect on the defensive end . . . . OSORIO TO THE RESCUE!
So hold your heads up proud RBNY fans! Sure, its been a quiet offseason, and yea, we are still, basically, the same team as last year . . . but we have the best attack options in the league. Hands down.

So with Brad (2), Special K (13), and GOLindo (18) how does our 15% fall?
I think we have 50% of the top two…

Either way, Razov’s name didn’t appear at all which makes NO SENSE. This list is bunk (but NY does have the best offense right now… at least until Galindo is healthy mwahaha).

I was going to mention that Razov should have been up there, and that would be 20% of the top 20. Chivas wins hands down. I was just glad there was no Ben Olsen.
I love the word Bunk.

We’ll see how the season goes. The Dynamo looked pretty good last night… not that I am nervous or anything…

Dynamo looked amazing. But the best goalie in the league is Guzan hands down. With him, Galindo, Razov, Marsch, Vaughn, Wicky and the rest of those characters, you guys are gonna be a friggin handful.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Thanks for the kind words Tom. Its a snowy day out here in the NY. And a slow work day. I may have to write another couple posts.
