Red Bulls 3 - Red Bulls 2

By: Dave Martinez | March 7th, 2008

No, the title doesn’t end RED BULLS 1 . . . dummies.

Our NEW YORK RED BULLS came back from behind and beat the parent squad RED BULLS SALZBERG 3-2.

The team trailed down two, and proceeded to pound three unanswered goals into the net.

Now check this out;

- Claudio Reyna takes a shot, JPA buries the rebound.
- Claudio Reyna feeds Sassano for his first goal in any capacity as a Metro
- Mike Magee nets himself the game winner on a Luke Sassano feed

Captain America seems rejuvenated this spring (is it spring yet?) taking shots where none were taken last year, making passes that lead to break out goals . . . I think Claudio Reyna may be looking to put the proper trimmings on an illustrious career with an MLS cup.

And another one of my favorite players is also getting back on the horse! Mike Magee nets the game winner. You have no idea how that rings music to my ears.

Magee is so much a favorite of mine, I have HIM playing the CAM in my FIFA 08 Red Bulls season. Love em. And I think that the injuries aside, this kid still has what it takes to grow, contribute, and shine for this team

Congrats on the win boys! Way to stick it to those Australians! ;)

What a difference it would make to this team is Reyna was playing at any sort of high level. He was a disaster last season but perhaps the new coach, new system and further time with teammates will have a positive effect on him and therefor the team.

Reyna is in many ways the key to our season. If he plays well there is so much more we can realistically expect from this team

Preach on brother. If Reyna can fulfill the expectations we had from LAST YEAR, we will be top of the league. For sure.

Remember last year? Everyone wanted to try out Reyna as the CAM and it never happened. Who knows - either him OR Magee may be able to step into that roll. Even DVB can hypothetically handle it.

Reyna is a huge piece to the puzzle though, thats for damn sure.

Good word on Magee. He reminds me a little of Pat Noonan, if only in the way he’s kind of hard to nail down as a player. Hope he works out for your bunch. And, as with the past two comments, I think all y’all will have a far better season if Reyna and Magee can work out a way to feed that stable of forwards.

Magee is a guy that gets some bad noise directed his way when injuries are the reason for his absences. I love the way the kid plays - remember two seasons ago when he stepped in for Amado? He can work some magic i believe in em.

I have to agree about Reyna, I truly believe he has one or two good seasons left in him. How about our new kid Brunner? Let’s hope he bocomes an asset! Go Red Bulls!
