Who Am I? What can you expect?

Ive posted the last few days, breathing some life back into what had unfortunately become a somewhat dead link to the rest of theoffside, and some may be wondering - who is this guy?

Im not one for SUPER long and tedious intro’s, so here goes. . . .

I am a 27 year old son of Argentine immigrants. The sport is religion to our people (if you dont believe me, go down to Argentina, say that you know of maradona, and watch them treat you like gold). So needless to say, I grew up a fan. (for those wondering, I am a huge Boca Juniors supporter)

The early 90’s was crucial for me, as I was part of “that” generation which began supporting American Soccer. In the age of Nirvana and grundge rock, there was nothing cooler than watching Alexi Lalas and Marcelo Balboa, with their style and vigour, going 110% against the soccer giants of the world.

Being that I have always been a sucker for underdogs, my conversion to US Soccer was complete. So I began following US Soccer, and the fever keeps growing, more and more, each and every year.

I consider my national fandom this way - USA #1, Argenina #1a. I love em both, though they are on vastly different sides of the soccer spectrum, in every sense.

Though I frequently watched MLS programs through the 90’s, especially since I loved Tab Ramos (whenever he was able to play), it was Clint Mathis and the Metrostars that made me like MLS, at all. And with the addition of Djorky a few years ago, I fell in love with the guys!

Last year was the first TRUE year I considered myself a loyal RBNY fan (my definition of a fan - a person who HAS to watch every single game, and doesnt just WATCH for watching sake). Funny timing with the transition and all, but thats my slow time line of love for this team. Just the way it is.

WHAT TO EXPECT

90% of what we will discuss here will be Metro related. the other 10%? Well, for starters, when big news happens, especially as pertaining to our beloved league, ill throw in my two cents. I may post about a bad cup of coffee ruining my morning, a near accident nearly taking out my explorer or even the Barry Bonds debate (btw, 2 of those three things have been part of my day so far - guess which ones)!

The point being - we will have ALOT of RBNY, and a little bit of everything else.

Be as NICE or as CRITICAL or as ANGRY or has UNREASONABLE as you like.
