The ticker is running, and stocks have awoken from their offseason slumber. Penny stocks have been introduced to the market this year through the “MLS Draft,” foreign acquisitions and investments continue to shape the markets analysis for Physical Year 2009, and older commodities are either on the brink of disaster or aging like a fine wine.

As always, we here at TORB Group are commited to giving our clients the top market perspectives for sound emotional investment. Here is a picture of the current, tumultuous market:

BUY

Juan Pablo Angel (JPA): JPA was a solid buy for anyone who bought in early last year. After a few misses early on, this constant stock displayed not only reliability as an investment, but growth. In fact, its highest quarter growth was the 4th of last year, signaling how well this stock performs during the most hectic and demanding period of the physical year. If you have JPA now, hold onto the stock. And though the price may still be a bit high, TORB analyist believe that JPA will be stronger than ever in 2009. If you can buy in, do so.

Dane Richards (DR): DR started as a penny stock three years ago, with alot of promise. Through its innovations in speed and creativity, the stock has skyrocketed. A definite keeper for the portfolio, as recent acquistions and contracts show the stock will remain viable and growing for years to come.

Albert Celades (ABC): ABC is a well known foreign stock that has been added to the domestic market recently. Though many don’t know how much value this stock has in the current market, I am one analyst that believes this solid veteran stock has some worth in it, at the right dollar amount. Early trials have shown that ABC can compete; but buy in only if the price is right. (I understand the risk in this buy. But without risk, there is no reward!)

Dominic Oduro (DO): DO has been seen as a stock that was not properly managed by its former management. With the acquisition by RBNY of the majority stock, DO will be looking to grow exponentially and shine in a way once not allowed. Buy in early, reap the profits.

HOLD

JPA, DR, and ABC if you have them already.

Jorge Rojas (JR): I would put JR in the buy category, since his stock is low after a less than thrilling 2008. But JR has trimmed lots of the fat that may have been hindering its performance last year, and if you bought in and lost some cash last August, my advice is to hold onto this stock for the 2009 year. JR just may find new heights.

Kevin Goldthwaite (KG): Another steady stock. KG found its way last season and has become one of the most trustworthy commodities in the current market. It is always nice to secure some stability. KG can give you that.

SELL

David Roth (DRT), Caleb Patterson Sewell (CPS) - Both penny stocks from last season saw promise, but have quickly declared bankruptcy this season. They will undergo some restructuring and will surely resurface in foreign markets.

Jon Conway (CON) – Here is an interesting situation; a tragic accident last year doomed this stock into obscurity, as its value was slashed by more than half, and most traders looking for the commodity would have to start its search in the trash bin. The stock will continue to suffer through the second quarter of this year, so perhaps sellling now while the selling is good and investing in other areas (like DC for instance – Danny Cepero) may be best for your money. CON should be reevaluated come July.

Welcome back to one of the few places on the net that regularly uses the words “Bull” and “Market” in the same sentence.

After a historic crash the past few weeks, seeing NYRB lose valuable points on the leaderboard, it is this traders humble opinion that this stock may be ready for a surge. The Bulls stole a point away from RSL on the road (stock was rated HOLD for the end of this quarter), which was viewed fairly overall by market speculators (me again). It wasn’t the razzle dazzle performance trackers were expecting, but it was enough to show hope for some future returns.

This week, we take a more aggressive stance, with more BUY options (citing the “they can’t lose 3 home games in a row” philosophy), and also conduct a review of last weeks picks!

BUY

Juan Pablo Angel (JPA): For a second week in a row, JPA stock continues to see unexpected growth, even with a 2 game scoreless streak. The last time JPA encountered CBS (Columbus Crew), he managed one of the cheekiest goals we have seen this season. With the last home game of the season looming, JPA is expected to perform large.

Jeff Parke (JP): Here is a stock that has been a dormant Giant all season. Though management has been critical in the decline of this stock, last weeks performance once again highlights the fact that, when given a chance, JP can be an industry leader. Defense stocks have been low the past few weeks, I know. But it is possible that the management of this stock has finally got it right, and this particular defense note will be the beneficiary. Add on to that the near collapse of defense giant GC (Gabe Cichero), and it only goes to highlight JP’s momentum. BUY BUY BUY!

New York Red Bulls (NYRB): NYRB is facing a difficult task this week, facing alot of market speculation as competition from CBS (Columbus Crew) looms large. But at this juncture in the season, it is simply not an option for this team to drop another three points at home. It is in this vain of impossibility that I am putting NYRB in the BUY column. If they are to collapse against the competition, you will see a drastic fluctuation on this stocks valuation. This is a gamble BUY, not for the weak of heart.

HOLD

Juan Carlos Osorio (JCO): Investors in NYRB are torn down the middle on this one. Speculators were expecting more aggression from this management stock in order to steal vital points from industry rivals KC (Kansas City Wizards) and RSL (Real Salt Lake), but JCO decided to take a more conservative stance to weather this hectic market. This gamble during such a volatile time in the market won’t be measurable until the seasons conclusion. JCO’s status may hang in that balance as well, depending on the fortunes of its investments.

Juan Pietravallo (JPO): Don’t believe the hype! People are selling this stock off after an investigation of a red card infraction against industry competitor CM (Clint Mathis). But this is premature. Until this point of the week, JPO had been riding a 52 week high, and I think it will continue. Do not abandon this stock! As a matter of fact, buy low and hold!

SELL

Clint Mathis (CM): One of the most studied stocks in history, CM continues to puzzle speculators. Just last year, CM stock was heading for an all time low when Greek Investors suddenly infused life back into the legendary stock. Always an option close to my heart, CM re-emerged on the scene late in the season with the financial backing of RSL. But after witnessing first hand what this once legendary stock has become, I will have to say that, for the very last time, CM stock will be going out of business. Such a strong player in the market for years, CM is on its last legs. Though still able to agitate an opponent, CM can not put up the numbers he once did.

LAST WEEKS PICKS

You will have to forgive this speculator but my picks for last week were a tad off. Then again, with the market being the rollercoaster it is, who can fault me?

First off, I was a bit over zealous with MK (Kandji). Though a young promising prospective stock, the administration behind this player is way off, allocating this products greatest assets to areas of the field which nullify its greatest attributes. MK is a stock that you put right up top, not on some wing to be lost and confused. Considering its current administrative issues, I will have to adjust MK’s market standings from BUY to HOLD (at least until its potential is used properly).

Popular out cry has also forced me to raise TORB (The Offside – Red Bulls) from SELL to HOLD. Though I viewed this stocks decline in last months earning reports as a poor sign of the future, considering TORB and NYRB’s nearly parallel charts, other speculators in the Market felt otherwise. Popular speculators, lead by Martha in Miami, NoLayUpRule, and BMatthews, lashed out strongly against my market ratings, citing the occassional “blip in the radar mentality,” causing an overall reevaluation of this stocks standings. I have been corrected.

Cichero (GC) and Rojas (JR) continue to round up the sell and hold listings respectively.

Ill have more market perspectives for you next week, right here, on TORB.

As work continues to get in the way of my blogging and online trading, I figured I’de combine both for a new feature on The Red Bulls Offside (TRBO on your stock tickers) simply entitled “Bull Market.”

Much like our current financial crisis, the Red Bulls are falling down an endless pit of despair without a rope or cleaver to prevent the fall. Where as their stock was a B rating just weeks ago, performing at Market Level, skimming on the BUY side, the teams value has plummeted, and forecasters (me) are seeing a tough few weeks ahead. If RBNY (the Red Bulls Stock Ticker) does not start to see even the smallest of gains by Wednesday, this ship may be sailing towards SELL territory.

Here is the latest RBNY financial forecast, as of Tuesdays Closing Bell:

BUY

+ Juan Pablo Angel. (JPA). JPA is the oracle of this market, and has been largely undervalued in this bearish run. A stronger dependency on the Colombian classic will be needed for RBNY’s stock to ever rise. My advice? Keep stock in Dane Richards, but shift the focus of the attack away from him and back on Angels back (or wings). In this volatile time, its best to invest in what you know, the tried and true product.

+ Macoumba Kandji (MK). MK is a newer option to our stock market, but the future sure does look bright! In mere minutes time, Kandji has been able to impress with his presence, awareness and composure. A starting opportunity awaits the big man this Thursday at RSL. What a better way to be ahead of the market than to invest in the arrival of this young sleeping giant? A goal this Thursday will shoot his stock through the roof.

HOLD

+ Jorge Rojas. (JR) Market experts seem speculative of the left back, turned left wing turned central midfielder. In this teams state of flux, Rojas seems to be the universal question mark on this team. Some speculate the best investment is in the central midfield, while others are looking to dump this experiment out the same door as Taylor Graham. I encourage RB fans everywhere – stay with this investment. It will pan out. The problem isn’t exactly with Rojas – it could very well be the simple fact that he has played in different spots and has even been away from the team at key moments (like this Thursdays game). Don’t give up just yet. A round of international play may be enough to awaken this stock.

SELL

+ Gabe Cichero. (GC) As he begs for a shot at the Vinotinto starting lineup, Cichero should watch his back – that starting role on the Bulls defense may also be up for grabs, after nearly three weeks of mediocre to terrible performances. Cichero, who was once considered the saviour of this defense, has been made to look more accident prone than a blind midget at a urinal. Much like the Rojas theory, it is this analysts hope that Cichero awakens while on National duty, and returns the player we recall from August.

+ TORB. Yes, my own little website is on the downswing. After nearly four months of record numbers and participation, beating back even the summer depression, TORB is feeling the effects of the Bulls weakened market value, with readership drastically falling this month alone! As RBNY fans lose hope, TORB loses visitors. Co-in-key-dink? I think not. Sell stocks of TORB till the RBNY market begins to reemerge into a genuine Bull Market. But the brave investor will always have a home, right here, on the Red Bulls Offside!

We will check back next week with the latest valuations. Stay tuned.

And remember – there is always a Bull Market out there, you just have to go out and find it!
