OBSERVATIONS

- First of all, congrats are in order for Danleigh Borman, Danny Cepero, Luke Sassano and Matt Mbuta. They have all graduated to senior status. Way to go!

- This list excludes Alfredo Pacheco (who may or may not need an international slot to fill the teams roster, as his mother lives in Los Angeles), and the rookies.

- The top 5 (gross) highest paid players (in order), include Juan Pablo Angel, Juan Pietravallo, Dane Richards, Jorge Rojas, and Jon Conway.

- The top 5 lowest paid senior players (in order) include Danny Cepero, Danleigh Borman, Luke Sassano, Matthew MButa (all at 34k), and Sinisa/Oduro (both at $34650).

- If you are confused, let me break this list down. There are 23 players listed. 2 are Jeremy Hall and Michael Palacio, who are developmental. That brings us down to 21. 2 players are currently playing hurt, which gives the Bulls some roster flexibility as they can be cut without affecting the roster during preseason (Terry Boss, Echeverry). That’s now 19. And 8 senior international slots have been used up (if you count Boyens, who I think has a green card – have to check on that), leaving one slot open.

- The Bulls are stilling looking into signing the defensive trio of Carlos Johnson, Albert Celades, and Alfredo Pacheco, so as many as 3 cuts (or as few as 1) would have to be made in order to accomadate these players.

What are your observations?

We overpaid for Pietro. Now I still have a question. Where are the draft picks…Baba, Zimmerman, and Traynor. They aren’t on the roster on the website either. Did they get cut?

My observation is that some of these guys who have supposedly graduated from developmental may be going back to developmental to accommodate the signing of the new players.

On the other hand, looks like developmental players got a raise from the league, looking at Palacio’s number.

I think Mbuta and Borman go back to developmental, as they have not really broken into the first team yet, Celades, Pacheco and Johnson get signed, Palacio gets cut, Traynor makes developmental and Zimmerman gets a thank you and we’ll keep in touch.

If Mbuta and Borman continue to develop well, I see them probably getting their roster status back as situations unfold during the season — like getting the Pietravallo situation resolved and if some player gets put on season-ending injury.

Babajide goes bye-bye, but we keep his MLS rights. There’s no way this guy is getting senior roster money when he’s never played a professional minute.

Ya, Baba has lots of BabaBalls, but at the same point, who the hell would want to sign for a developmental contract, especially a highly educated College grad? Unrealistic for him to hold out, especially if these signings go through, but I can’t necessarily blame the kid.

As far as your other observations – I am definitely with you. I think that Mbuta stays senior though. He will be a major factor in this seasons attack, especially when it comes to backing Dane.

And again, I think Boyens is well on his way to a green card. Don’t know for sure, but trying to find out.

I still can’t believe that the goalkeeper who took you guys all the way to the Cup is making only $34,000. In NYC, no less. What, does he still live with mom and dad?

i think oduro got low-balled. he should be in the 80’s like woly, kandji, and echeverry. i suspect only pacheco and johnson will get signed and that’ll bump borman down to developmental. maybe we’ll see celades in the summer window. palacio and ojunbiyi are toast.
