Honestly I think this shows the kind of positive carry over that can come from a friendly with a mighty team like Barcelona.

We were outclassed in a major way against Barca but the lesson seemed to have been learned.

Instead of returning shell shocked from the beating we returned inspired to play solid ball, to raise our game from MLS level {aka the dumps} and try to be legit.

Im very impressed with Angel for not giving up when he clearly could. Hes a great player on a bad team in a terrible league and has been injured almost all season from playing on a substandard surface. But the man comes every night with effort and professionalism and fire!

Also Conway impresses the hell out of me anchoring a very inconsistent defense and saving a lot of balls when other guys with his history of being in and out of lineups and – this year – getting peppered with goals wouldnt.

Osario may mess with my confidence at times in his formations and lineups even but his player acquisitions are very solid and his commitment to improving this squad seems very clear.

Im all for making this team into Inter NY. Id be thrilled with south american players all over the field with a few euros mixed in and a couple of USA boys who deserve it out there representing {like they have in China – good work Joze!!!}

But this team also needs a star addition. I remain hopeful that Henry can be acquired somehow even if hes not the ideal player for us. I know Boca and Riquelme have a love affair going but that another fantasy acquisition for me.

Anyway – go NY!!! Another proud moment over a rival!!!

CB – Couldnt agree more. I also love the fact that Stammler Mendes and Pietravallo can all adequetly start, and play with the same intensity. Did you see Mendes off the bench yesterday? Beastly. Great job.
