All The Bull: 7/14
By: Dave Martinez | July 14th, 2008
+ Jorge Rojas is in camp with the team, as are Pietravallo, Cichero and Jimenez. All would like this weekends Galaxy game to be their debut, but none can be confirmed. I guess they have 4 days of training to prove their worth.
+ George Welcome is in camp as well. Yup, my spanish media sources proved to be true, even as Coach Osorio denied it to the NY Post. Welcome has a discovery claim on him by New England (hence the one week tryout). If the Red Bulls put in an offer for Welcome, New England would then be asked to match it, or allow the young Honduran to try out his luck in the tri-state area. Keep your fingers crossed on this gamble.
+ Did you know the Bulls attendance is only slighly better this year than Kansas City and the Crew? With those two teams, the Bulls are in the elite group of “The Three Teams With The Crappiest Attendance.” Check out how a Beckham visit could change all that . . . click the link pal.
+ Ubiparipovic has felt the pain of a 50% salary cut. But who will be out of a job by the time this is all said and done? Roster additions will mean more sacrifice from our current player pool. And the pressure is said to be palpable in training.
+ Ives weighs in on Oscar Echeverry and a number of practice notes (including his thoughts on the new additions). He thinks Eche is injured and that the Bulls arent reporting it. Whatever the case may be, he is about to set a record as the first ever Special Ed Player of the Year on the Red Bulls Offside.
+ Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster for this weekends Beckham Fiasco. Best available tickets seem to be in the 200 sections, behind the net.
I have section 102 – if anyone is interested in some tix, contact ol’ scalper Dave here for em (if my employees dont take em from me first!)
