BEAT THE WEAK (or RBNY 3 – 0 TFC) *late edition*
By: Dave Martinez | August 14th, 2007If this were the 70’s, and a shalacking like that was taking place on television, it would normally be attached with a

Holy Canadian Massacre Batman!
THE GOOD
DAVE VAN DEN BERGH
I will take a minute to flatter myself and say that DVB is a huge reader of theoffside! Whether thats true or not is irrelevant, but I think with two weeks off, someone was browsing the internet and seeing the discontent the fans had with his performance. He had something to prove.

DVB was on FIRE from the opening bell. He was throwing hooks like Tyson, balls out attacking the net, and hitting the ball with finesse and attitude. THIS is the Bergh we have been waiting for!
And I will give DVB theoffside garuntee – if you continue to play like THAT, this page will have your back (the offer is still out there for Schopp to do the same too).
Though he didnt notch any points, he became a focus for TFC, and his ability to work the ball enabled people like Altidore and Angel more room and time to work their magic. Excellent performance.
DANE RICHARDS
Read the above. Man, that kid showed some skill!!!!
JOZY ALTIDORE
World.
F’N.
Class.
He deserves a shot in Europe (Fulham anyone?)
MIKE MAGEE
WELCOME BACK KID!!!!!! It was just awesome to see him back, AND to see him get a few cheers.
JP ANGEL
Congrats on finding that form JP! Here is a clip from the ESC with that crazy screaming YA bastard again . . .
Joe Vide
This kid is showing some amazing progress, and calm, in the place of the oft injured Reyna and Dema. I love underdogs and, between him and Magee, I am rooting hard for their success. Another strong performance from the kid!
CLINT MATHIS
Coming off the bench (which is the last place Cleetus wants to be), he played a stabilizing force in the central midfield, and the occasional wing. His flat, but very precise crosses were causing fits early on for the TFC D as they were practically playing “Where will the ball bounce next?” Clint continues his strong play, and from a guy who is a HUGE fan of our redneck, I couldnt be happier.
THE OFFENSE
24 shots to 2. Nuff said.
THE BAD
CLAUDIO REYNA
Though I have to commend Captain America on his attempts to be on the field, the facts remain – if he was not at 100%, just pull a David Beckham, and don’t play, ESPECIALLY against a weak team like TFC is right now. This would have been the perfect rest week (3 weeks) he needed. Instead, he goes out there, heart before brains, and aggravates his groin again.
Its getting thinner and thinner and thinner out there as far as the depth is concerned. The last thing we need is our . . . DP . . . to continue to miss games, and lose form.
Claudio. We have to see something brother.
THE UGLY
THE LOMBARDO LEFT HOOK
The frustrated Canadian Andres Lombardo has decided to change professions! It has been reported that he has hooked up with Canadian boxing legend Yvon Durelle . . .

Does that punch ring a bell.
On a serious note, the guy was lucky not to be tossed. That was some dirty bush league BS.
CHRIS POZNIAK
Again, Bush League tackle. Nice job, nice face, nice skills . . . dork.
=========================================================================
Now, next week we play the Galaxy. Someone told me thats a big deal. I couldnt imagine why. Someone special must be playing . . . I will do my darndest to investigate this situation and find out . . . WHO SOLD OUT GIANTS STADIUM?
