CLEAN UP THAT SCUM! Happy days are here again . . .
By: Dave Martinez | July 22nd, 2007
This is Fred, the face of DC’s frustrations, fits, and scumbagetry, showing us what he does when that Brazilian blood starts to boil and the Jogo Bonito goes out the window. Nice Cleats up red card *!$*!^*$&!$&*!!!!!!!!!
That was the icing on the cake for this Argie.
We WON! And we wiped off the scum from the table and reminded them - we are not done yet! THE FIGHT FOR FIRST CONTINUES!
MR WOLYNIEC!
Its no surprise Celtic want him! (just kidding of course - but for those not in the know - http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.1539198.0.capone_bids_to_win_deal_at_celts.php )
Woly continues to get piled on by our fans, but nevertheless, contributes at a remarkable click. He and Altidore looked great together, and it is a shame he will most likely be riding the bench the rest of the season. My love of Dema also goes for Woly - two hard-working-body-to-the-face-of-danger type players that make me want to watch soccer! Thank you Woly for fighting for first.
What about Mathis?!
There is a countdown on metrofanatic.com tracking Clint’s total Metro goals. He is tied with the Veni Legend Savarese. The past few weeks since he has tied, the performance rate has dropped. This week, we saw significant signs of life. You HAVE to play Mathis somewhere behind the forwards if you want him to be effective. And they are doing that. This, along with Dema and Alti’s return, are signs of greatness to come.
Remember, this league is RULED by the hot team catching fire at the end of the season. We just went through a rough patch, and held DC’s high potent offense scoreless. This can be the beginning of good things to come . . .
WELCOME BACK ALTI!
Even when he does not score, his performance still speaks volumes. Listen, the boy can play! He has INSTINCT, proper learning, excellent skill . . . the makings of the next big time forward on the very short list of American strikers. He is so smart. Even his clearance attempts are unbelievably mature, as indicated by a simple save he made by the goalline, where he redirected the ball smartly to the sidelines without a seconds thought. This teen is going to be the face of this sport. I love em.
FRED
The man had his chances, lets not fool ourselves. But we shut him down, and he became the antithesis of the SCUMS day . . . . too little, too late.
KUDOS
First off, as I said in my last post, I will give Kudos where they are due, and the defense, after having a few weeks to gel, finally showed what they are capable of doing. With the exception of Parke’s injury (which we all hope is not something more . . . permanent), our defense held us through the game, along with . . . ahem . . . BACK UP goalkeeper Jon Conway. An excellent performance
ZZZZZZZZZFEST
You know, I saw a 1-0 match yesterday . . . 2 teams I could really give a rats patoot about . . . . . yet it was FAR more exciting than tonites derby.

We won, so needless to say . . . I LIKE. But still. Zzzzz - Fest my friends.
And dont give me that APPRECIATE THE TECHNICAL gobbledy gook. Surely, you werent watching the mishaps on either side of the midfield area.
TROY WHO?!?!
You know, since those concacaf cup games, Perkins looks HORRIBLE! And THANK GOD FOR THAT!
DEMA!!!!!
Guess who’z bizack?!

Wrong.
But ya got the right attitude!
Dema made a second half Beckham like appearance for the Bulls. This ONLY goes to reassure us ACHING Metrofanatics (Dont hate me Dan) that, along with the DC win, the goods news just keeps coming!
AROUND THE CORNER . . .
This week we face a terribly dangerous Chivas USA team. These guys, lead by the likes of Galindo, Guzan, Marsch and a steady defense to boot, will be working their way in Giants Stadium for one hell of a clash. And we continue to fight for first place. LETS GO METRO!!!!!!!
