This is really sad! I too was hoping that we would stop the coaching carousel. I thought that JCO might’ve finally discovered a foundation for this team in 09 then add in a few offseason acquisitions to fortify us. Losing both Columbians would be a disaster for this club. Unfortunately it looks like we took 3 huge steps forward in the post-season only to take 10 steps back in the offseason. Sad, sad, sad.

Some terrible conversations must be going on in Red Bull world for JCO to say something like this. Seriously, this was his “Dream Job” and he took a mediocre team at best to the finals. They have the ability to improve ten-fold with the other DP slot. Fans should be more inclined to come out with the result of this season and the new stadium. It’s just baffling!

Well here’s the deal.. anyone who has been to the games knows revenue certainly isn’t pouring in from ticket sales. I think JCO needs to take a wait and see approach with the new stadium. Imagine if attendance doubles.. there will certainly be more money to go around. I don’t think I blame the club for being conservative. But JCO needs to calm down a bit a see how things are next year and the year after that.

As far as the club goes…I think its pretty obvious that Red Bull bought the team for the marketing and not the championships. I think the best we can hope for from them is to spend up to the break-even-point. But expecting them to pump extra money in for transfers goes beyond the business model as I see it.

We just need more people to show up for the games so there is more $$ to spend. And JCO needs to be patient.

Wow. This is a rotten deal for the fans if nothing else. Osorio has a point. I think we do need ‘reinforcement’. We’ve needed it all season long, and we’ll especially need it going into the Chmpionship League for any hope of putting a dent in CONCACAF. I think the club should absolutely consider this, and I’m surprised it hasn’t.

Now, that being said, If Angel leaves with Osorio, which is pretty much expected at this point, (right?) We’re in for some tough times.

I’m with Phill on getting Henry. Isn’t his contract up soon?

Even if he doesn’t leave (and Fire fans have seen it firsthand), who can disagree with what he is saying? RBNY do need some better players, the team WAS NOT very good this year (save the debacle of MLS “playoffs”), and the MLS season itself IS crazy for some teams.

wow! i was hoping the game of musical coaches was coming to an end. the part that bothers me the most is that Red Bull is not willing to improve the team. we’ve got a ways to go, before this team is solid. as for osorio, i have mixed feelings …

Good point. I am 50/50 on caring if he leaves. We made the finals but had a crappy season and all of the players he has signed have been crap.

Dave – Im not. Just reporting what I read, and, unlike other times, its from his mouth. Perhaps some posturing for a restructured contract? But him leaving being the conclusion of this wouldnt be accurate.
