Crystal Method Lays Out Red Bulls
By: Dave Martinez | July 1st, 2008
For the average Red Bulls supporter, a loss in a meaningless tournament to a bunch of unknowns would mean nothing at all. Who even knows who Lamar Hunt is anyway right? But to those who have lived through Metro disaster after disaster, a loss to a subpar USL2 franchise is yet another notch in our histories ever growing dissappointment belt.
Down early, 2 goals to best, and with a man advantage, the Red Bulls and their bench jockies could not make this game competitive, let alone hopeful. For those that are sick of the ongoing joke that is their trophy case, keep praying for an MLS Cup – Lamar Hunts trophy can once again get heaped onto the compost heap that is 12 years of Metro hopes and dreams.
The only rational explanation I can find for a 4-5-1 formation, bench warmers, and Zach Thornton against a bunch of minor league no names is that Osorio feels he has enough on his plate with the current season to take on a time consuming tournament. Why else bomb like this?
