Double the Messi! Argentina AND Barcelona on the way!

I will start with the confirmed, nearly solid, rock hard reliable rumor.

ARGENTINA v. USA in GIANTS STADIUM

Ahhh . . . the sound of that rings tango to my Argie ears. My two favorite teams in the world playing against each other, in what looks like a 1st team rumble. According to Ives Galarcep, the match looks to be set for June 8th. And, for all you speculators out there, it will be the last of a series of warmups for each teams respective World Cup Qualifiers. What does that mean? Usually, it means a last look at the 1st squad, facing top quality opposition.

And what does that mean? Well, it means that one of my LIFE LONG DREAM GAMES will be coming to my home town – and I will be there to root my squad (take a guess which one?)

BUT THERE IS MORE!

Weeks ago, we asked our readers about 2 strong rumors swirling around these internets. Rumor 1 – Red Bulls will face Barcelona in Giants Stadium sometime in August. Rumor 2 - Red Bulls will face Real Madrid in Giants Stadium sometime in August.

Put to a poll, it was a landslide – our fans wanted BARCELONA to come back to town!

Well, it seems like your prayers may be answered.

Real Madrid is going to announce a friendly with Real Salt Lake, which eliminates that rumor right away. That leaves Barca, which has once again been linked to the Swamp for a friendly with the Bulls.

Mark your calenders – rumors have it set for early August.

Thats DOUBLE THE MESSI! DOUBLE THE MILITO! DOUBLE THE ARGIES!

And I cant wait.

lol yea the spam filters seem to HATE you haha.

I am going to buy an 8 game plan this season - toooo much work for a full season.

Planning on seeing Colombus (schelotto), KC (lopez), DC (obvious), NE (ditto), Fire (blanco), Galaxy (for SOME reason!), maybe Dynamo or TFC, or Colombus again at the end of the season.

Ill be doing some visitin this season with the ESC boys and girls too. So I am down for whatever is what I am saying haha

im also looking into a nice tix package. id love to do the full season but my knicks tickets are more than my allowed allotment for sports spending so Im gonna have to do a 4 plan.

Im thinking about Galaxy plus Fire, DC and NE

Unless Roma vs Boca happened and I went with Halle Berry as my date. But even that wouldnt be as good because I wouldnt be able to watch the game since Halle would be bothering me to leave so we could get back to bed already. Shes insatiable!

I digress.

i couldnt be more excited about this possibility. Im a Italy fan first but Argentina are my obsession and to see them play in NY is about as exciting news as Im likely to get this monday afternoon between 3 and 6pm.

I think we should purchase a block of seats for the offside readers and friends of and then we can act as proper tifosi should!!!

I am a Boca fan, an Argentine, and a football fan overall. This is absolutely the greatest news I could have had.

Plus, Barcelona was so much fun a few years ago, I HAVE to catch the game again (And I garuntee we will do better!)

I would love to get a chance to watch Messi in closeup live action myself and it's great that you're getting that chance. Just watching him mow down the opposition on TV for Barcelona is simply magical.

Sounds awesome and it's not just messy - Kun Aguero, Ever Banega, Riquelme, Mascherano, Di Michelis, and Lavezzi. I saw the under 23s play Guatemala at the HDC last month and the chapines got pummelled.
