Agreed Ken. Both Goalies need to go. Alti will not be around much longer. And we could have done alot more, for less money.

I guess, like many RBNY fans, this USMNT fanatic loved the idea of Reyna . . . and I loved em initially . . . but a DP he aint.

I agree with alot of comments said about Claudio Reyna and new from the beginning he was not worth a DP slot. They should have only allowed him to play if he accepted a senior international spot and can you imagine JP Angel and lets say amado guevara or blanco who is now with chicago. I say let reyna go and get a midfielder that can feed JP Angel. ALso another important note the red bull should be thinking about another forward for Jozy Altidore who is going to England next year maybe a DP slot for another forward and guevara as a senior international. I am a die hard Red Bull fan and go to everygame but cannot understand how they did not get Emilio who is now on DCwhich they could have got for reyna’s spot for alot less money . Can you imagine angel emilio and guevara feeding them wow. Lets hope bruce can improve team and if not somehow someway ESkandarian who is quick and can play with Angel for Altidore’s spot next year. Also both goalies have to go very slow.

DC is gonna be a messy messy affair. I am willing to bet the house (or the blog) that it will be a high scoring affair, whether or not Waterreus plays.

I did try to imply the marketing aspect in the article by saying that the star powered player could attract a higher number of people to our games, though i did not specifically site that. Nevertheless, excellent points all around.

Let’s not forget the marketing aspect of the DP slot. I did go out and buy an RB shirt with “Reyna” on it when he was first announced as joining the team. However, his performance surely isn’t selling tickets right now, and I’m not sure how many he has “sold” in the past. I look at a DP slot as a key field position but also A KEY MARKETING position.

BTW, on the ‘followup’ effect from the 5-4 classic, the weather isn’t helping us at all. It’s been raining for 48 hours and tomorrow for the DC game doesn’t look much better.

Uh…I believe for some of us it did. Or might as well have.

And this is off-topic, because when it comes to Reyna… Well, I don’t care.

But could you do me a favor? I’m looking for follow-up numbers for attendance for RBNY — whether or not there’s any carryover from the Great Beckham Appearance. Can you keep an eye out for me? Thanks!
