Echeverry Out for the Season
By: Dave Martinez | July 29th, 2008
The speculation may now officially be laid to rest. Oscar Echeverry has been playing injured. Quite injured.
According to Brian Lewis at the NY Post, Eche will go under the knife for season ending knee surgery. This leaves the forward options extremely thin up top - with Wolyniec and Megaloudis being the top forward options (since Magee seems to be considered a midfielder now adays).
The Bulls have tried everything to fill the striker spot, to no avail. George Welcome’s discovery claim, owned by New England, has stalled that situation to a halt. Brazilian Andre Borges, as Lewis reports, has been less than impressive. And Caraccio, the Argentine forward from Houston, isnt the big forward JCO is looking for.
The striker spot looks thinner than ever. And even the loss of the Special Ed Player of the Year, Oscar Echeverry, further impacts situations. The Bulls venture into another exhausting search for a forward who hasnt already been compromised by an MLS team begins. I am smelling a Pescadito.

well that makes a lot of the abuse we’ve all heaped on him look a little shameful.
I assume hes been playing injured because the team needed him and we had so few options.
thats a stand up move.
But IM glad hes wrapping it up. I liked what I saw from him at the begining of the season and I still hope he can be useful to us.
however this season can be taken out of the dryer, folded up and put back in the underwear drawer. He might as well rest and get surgery.

IMHO I’d rather give mega or woly a lucky chance than se this chump limping around.

hey guys. We never saw his best, never knew he was injured, he’ll, we barely knew him. My hope is that we get someone who can competently be called upon to net us some goals.

Tough break, showed promise w/ that non league goal, plus the one called back that game. Keep your head up. Buena Suerte en la futura Eche!
