Edson Buddle, Superstar

Edson Buddle. What does that name mean to Metro fans? For starters – an awkward, enigmatic, inconsistent, full of potential but far from reaching it kind of a player.

Today, he is tied with Landon Donovan for the league lead in goals (11) and is being touted by anyone in hearing distance for the USMNT.

And to the shock of Metro fans everywhere – “Hat trick Buddle” has his own T-shirt.

Who saw this coming?

No - just some of us are suprised that he has come this far - NLR - dont know if you saw him play as a metro but OUCH.

Note also that three of Donovan's 11 goals have come from penalty kicks, while none of Buddle's have.

Richard - it took two world class players in Donovan and Beckham and a world class coach in Gullit to get this guy to his potential - believe me, this is NOT the Buddle ANY previous team has seen, but he is the one they all hoped for.
