Great post on this huge and growing problem. I was in 101 at the Chivas USA game and was actually standing next to the dude who had the balloons taken away. While taking his balloons they also took his inhaler and examined it for about 5 minutes before giving it back. I also saw NJSEA security go through someone’s camera phone. I was thrown out for chanting “fake tan” towards the end of the game at one of the security guards. I’m not sure exactly what the reason for the escalation is but there weren’t really any problems with 101 and security this season until the New England game.

Could be that the guys in cowardly yellow are just bored since, unlike Giants and Jets games where they spend the vast majority of their time breaking up fights between no-neck lowlifes from the swamps of NJ and the hinterlands of the LIE, there isn’t that sort of asinine violence at Red Bulls games. It’s just folks trying to bring some real football atmosphere to an otherwise moribund stadium and security just doesn’t get it.

I would be really interested to see whether the heat continues to grow, or if the layoff will cool heads. We shall see. Glad to report on it though. Hope it helps cool tensions. Thats my two centavos.

A message needs to be sent. To the NJSEA AND the management of this team who again seems as spineless (or hopeless) as that of the Metrostars. This hasn’t been happening since the New England game. This has been going on since 1997.

Hey, thanks for posting about this. Lets hope the NJSEA reigns in on their employees. There really is no need for 40 or more of them to pretend like they’re riot police ready to break skulls and march into the section every game. Thats really uncalled for, nevermind all the instances of them instigating altercations.
