Fate on Conway’s Side?
By: Dave Martinez | April 13th, 2009
For months, the speculation has run rampant; will Cepero have to concede his starting position to Conway when he returns from suspension? Or has Cepero done enough to earn the starters role? All of that may be moot.
There have been no further reports about Danny Cepero’s brutal concussion other than the fact he suffered one. Regardless of the situation, his unfortunate accident has opened the door wide open for a return of the teams previous starting keeper, Jon Conway, to retain what he lost so long ago.
You all spoke pretty loud and clear this weekend; you’ve missed the big guy a bit! And I am sure the feeling is mutual. But was this the way you saw it all playing out?
Now, considering circumstances, and how unpredictable concussions may be, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Conway starting in nets against RSL. Cepero is a young, talented keeper who should really put his health first, even if team doctors give him a green light. But the drama of this situation could carry on throughout the season, barring the chance Conway doesn’t run away with this opportunity.
With the team suffering as it has to open the season, a major change like this can be enough to shake a lineup up a bit. And though circumstances surrounding the change have been horrible to stomach, I’d love to know how you all feel about this situation.

NOON UPDATE: BAS is reporting Danny Cepero will be available for the RSL clash. The question is, will they let him play?
