Right now, either of these two would be great in my opinion. With someone fast Angel will place himself in a position to get the ball and score or poach of a deflected ball and score.

I dislike how MLS does its transfer system. I think we just need to go to the same one everyone else is using and let the team owners control the amount spent. If we sell Jozy for 9mil, we should get the 9mil and be able to spend it like we please. I understand it could be unfair for others bc Redbull could decided start spending here like they do in Austria and bring in big names at all positions, but except for here(well maybe except for here with the exclusion of LA GAX) that happens in every other football league in the world. Have your salary cap, have your deadlines, have your draft, but for God sakes its time MLS became a regular football league. Lots of clubs have little money and get along just well (i.e. Halmstad BK in Sweeden first division is VERY poor, but were recently champs)

so that 500k can be used towards a player without an effect on the stupid salary cap? Its like another designated player exception except its limited to 500K?

Did we use the cash we got from Jozy on Pertavallo, Rojas and Cichero {aka the Italian stallion}?

I’ve watched Kanji play a few times and I am not all that impressed. He has good size but I don’t think at this point he has the skill to be a reliable goal scorer in MLS. Put a strong, big defender on him and he doesn’t do much. I wouldn’t pay 200k for him.*

*Note: I am a bit biased because he took a dive a few weeks back and got one of my Portland Timbers booted from a game.

It gives the team allocation money – that money, downwards of 500k, can be -used for a variety of ways – teams use, signing bonus, stuff like that. So if there is a 2 mil transfer, the team gets 500k for its teams use, and a couple extra bucks for operations.

And the nature of MLS, right now, is not to retain great players, but to develop players, make money off of them, and THEN sign veteran players who help the growth and value of these youngsters. We arent a developmental or world class league – MLS treads that in between line.
