Goodbye Jozy!
By: Dave Martinez | June 11th, 2008
A six year contract with the second place team in all of La Liga?
Jozy, as always, you are doing us proud.
So the final chapter to this prelude is over. And here comes the excitement!
For the many Red Bull fans, USMNT followers, and soccer lovers throughout our great nation - thank you. Your class and skill have been the highlight of US Soccer for nearly two years now, and we can say, in full confidence, that you will make us all proud overseas.
And from me personally? It was a genuine pleasure interviewing you last year (even if the follow up fell through!), and being able to watch your development from the very first day with the Red Bulls has been a priveledge. Shocking to see such a composed and confident teenager at work.
God Bless, Jozy. All the best to you . . .

good for him, good for US Soccer. Bad for me and bad for RBNY.
This feels like a New Orleans funeral. A morbid party, a bon voyage and a tearful adieu.

RBNY should be having an Irish funeral because we might as well be drunk as we fall down the table. Oh well, hopefully we can spend the 500k(i think thats our allotment) well and develop some more quality talent that’ll get sucked off to Europe.

so the league gets 9.5 mil and the team that developed and lost him gets .5 mil?

This kid will be scoring all kinds of goals in the World Cup soon enough. Best of of luck to him.
