HALLELUJAH! Angel Is Ok!

Metro Bull fans are used to expecting the highest of highs, and being dragged to the lowest of lows. 2008 turned up a magical run to the finals, only to lose and subsequently suffer an entire season of losing in 2009. Throughout their history, they have signed promising names that brought with them equally promising prospects, only to have them fall flat on their face. They acquired what was supposed to be a coup of a Coach in Juan Carlos Osorio, and . . . well, we all know how that turned out. And you all know the routine.

This year, they have been playing inspired soccer in the preseason, capped off by a 4-0 thrashing in the Disney Finals against division rivals TFC. Juan Pablo Angel turned in his first ever hat trick as a Red Bull. Expectations couldn’t be higher. And when that happens, you wait for the next shoe to drop. So naturally, the team captain was savagely tackled in a meaningless game by leg breaker Julian de Guzman, and a collective gasp could be heard from New York to Epcot. The season, and all it’s promise, suddenly didn’t look so bright.

But this story has a happy ending (for once).

Like they say – take a large sigh of relief folks. It’s not his knee! And Angel will (hopefully) be ok!
