Happy New Year and Stuff!
By: Dave Martinez | January 2nd, 2009I have been writing on this blog for over a year now, and it has been some of the most fruitful, fun writing I have ever done in my life. So to start off the New Year, I would have to publicly acknowledge all the readers here for their continuous support and love. Hell, I even got a Christmas card from Martha this year! That is about as super sweet as you can get!
I look forward to yet another year of interviewing the best footballers/soccer players RBNY and MLS has to offer, as well as covering events and such to keep everyone as up to date as possible. I always say it, so one more time won’t hurt – you guys make this worth it.
To fuel your New Years addiction, and in light of the January transfer window, here are some miscellaneous rumor generating articles/year in reviews you all may enjoy.
Have an awesome year everyone. 2009 is going to be great for us all.
- Jack Bell may very well be the only good thing left to read at the New York Times. He does an excellent review of the glorious year in football that was 2008, full of surprises, drama – and an RBNY mention!
- Palermo, Veron, Ortega – names I have heard rumored to the states for years. But scratch the surface just a little bit, and there are other names in the Argie leagues whom, like Schelotto, could barn storm the league. Gregory Sica at SI.com explores the many options and not so hidden treasures whom may see a greener future in the MLS.
- Goal.com has the good and the bad of the Red Bulls year, highlighting Juan Pablo Angel in their league starting XI, and reminding us of one of the lower points in the season; MLS very first drug policy offenders.
- And finally, Beau Dure at USAToday.com does an excellent favor to all soccer speculators from sea to shining sea; summarize all the pertinent questions people have about US soccer, moving forward into the New Year. Sure he left out some stuff, but its good table talk.
Happy New Year everyone!
