Holla At The Lobo!

The weekend poll has quickly become a favorite of mine; it keeps my finger on the readers pulse, and is an easy way to put up content without all that much effort! This week, you guys spoke loud and clear; give Amado a chance!

Now, to assume TFC is looking to move the Honduran stand out is a stretch. As of right now, they probably have one of the most dominating core of midfielders in the league, including DeRosario, Guevara, Ricketts, and Robinson. Flank them on either wing with Todd Dunivant and Marvell Wynne, and you have two thirds of the field that is capable of laying off some smooth crosses and passes to the front.

Threatening indeed.

The caveat in all of this? Guevara is the show. Who knows if he would feel comfortable playing along side DeRo and becoming the second fiddle in this attacking tandem. So it actually wouldn’t be a bad thing to simply inquire.

You all spoke loudly; 54.7% want Guevara back as opposed to the 28% that want no part of him. I think I am with the former group. Guevara has matured greatly since his rearrival in the US, and to have a player of his creativity manning our midfield, feeding Angel and friends, would make the Red Bulls squad a bit more dangerous. Consider this if you will:

———Angel–Kandji———
————Guevara———–
DVB (maybe)———–Richards
——-Stammler—Pietra——-
Rojas—Goldie-Jimenez—Leitch
——–Conway/Cepero———

It isn’t complete, but it is vastly better.

I am with you guys; holler at the Lobo!

DVB is our 2nd best player for sure

we need to keep him. crucial.

I third that DVB motion. I wanna hear more rumblings from the RB front office that this guy is here for awhile. Regarding the topic Guevara, though...as hyped as I am for the formation David mentions, I can't say that I understand how you envision a situation where he would come to NY because of a problem working with DeRo in TFC and yet share with a young, somewhat selfish Kandji and supreme commander Angel. On the other hand, if its not a trade Guevara is demanding, and we find a way to make it, then let's do it.

I agree with Joseph - DVD would be a terrible loss. His swerving crosses seemed to (anecdotally) account for a heck of a lot of RB goals. To have a more potent offensive third, you can't hamstring it by having only one avenue of attack.
  • I will personally be much less interested in the red bulls next season if we lose DVB. He is one of the best players in the league, a technical player whose crosses are absolutely necessary for Angel.

As quick as Richards is, his crosses aren't the "cultured left foot" of DVB. You can get and trade for heart, speed, talent, but technical ability of his caliber is rare in this league, and absolutely necessary.

Guevara at CAM would open things up for us and might be slightly more possible now that TFC has acquired DeRo. I register a pointless complaint about including in Pietrovallo in the line-up, what with the guaranteed contract and all (what? why?). hey, i know! maybe we could trade Pietrovallo for Guevara with some other goodies!! yeah, that's a deal, boy, that TFC should lunge at.
