One thing at least you can count on is that the rbs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Why is the league not having us open the season at home, to show off the new digs?? Shouldn't MLS show where the league is heading with the best stadium in the league?? Where is the love MLS?

Isn't this MLS' call and not the team's? More importantly, depending on how the rosters change this winter, maybe the Red Bulls will be (hopefully) improved and perhaps beat the Rapids? Nothing like success to kick off a new stadium regardless of opponent.

The rivalry games will bring in bigger crowds anyway, so why not use the stadium opener to bolster a matchup that isn't a necessarily a big draw?

Might as well have the home opener be against Union, in a battle for New Jersey bragging rights.
