Lider Marmol . . . The Never Ending Story . . .

By: Dave Martinez | April 10th, 2008

Its as if I am seeing Atreyu and Falcor right before my very eyes.

The Neverending Story Continues.

In the latest from Lider Marmol and the Chicago Fire, Luis Arroyave is reporting that Chicago coach Dennis Hamlett has no intentions of giving up his chase for Marmols services (possibly pressed more so due to the Conde affair).

Osorios response?

“We’re giving ourselves a final week,” Osorio said after Tuesday’s practice. “If we can get the deal done, great. If not, we have to move on.”

We are finally seeing the end of this woefully long and aimless tale.

Hopefully, Chris Innes (whom has been impressive in training this week) will be the answer where Marmol was not (thank goodness we have other options!).

We will need much more than Luck. Marmol is as good as Chicagos. My only hope is he pulls a Conde once he gets there.

Good luck! May the Direct Kick be with you.

Ideal scenario: Your 2008 MLS Cup Champion Chicago Fire:

    ——–Frankowski——Barrett—————
    Mapp————–Blanco—————–Rolfe
    ——————Marmol———————-
    Segares——Conde——-Soumare——Robinson
    ——————-Busch———————-

Bold = Crying towel not included.

P.S. - Thanks for the scouting services.

I am so glad I don’t know what you’re talking about with Atreyu.

As for the Marmol thing, y’all shouldn’t really care anymore, at this point you have Innes now so honestly Marmol can just buzz off to Chicago Crash And Burn or wherever…

I think you are getting Neverending Story confused with Labyrinth (starring a very very young Jennifer Connely). I know these things because a friend and I are kind of obsessed with wierd cult movies.

oh come on man I’m not calling you old! If anything I’m calling myself an uninformed youth! :) I’ll take you up on the list, by the way…haha…

best movies for me are: my cousin vinny, a few good men, pride & prejudice, freedom writers, breach, rent, phantom of the opera, the nativity story, saint rita, sense & sensibility, the guardian (any coast guard movie hehe)…many others. the thing with me is I don’t get to watch many movies so when I do I am very picky!! haha :)

    Dave,

Figured this would interest you in follow up to your earlier post:
According to numerous articles out of Venezuela, the 31-year old Venezuelan international has reached an agreement with the New York Red Bulls. A source close to his current club, Unión Atlético Maracaibo, says the terms are almost complete and the player will likely transfer after the club’s remaining Copa Libertadores matches.
