LIVEBLOG: Real Salt Lake Debuts New Home v. Da’ Bulls!

By: Dave Martinez | October 9th, 2008

Tonights game has that weight of importance that MLS fans only seem to feel when David Beckham and the Galaxy are in town. Its with that in mind that I invite NYRB and RSL fans alike to the TORB for some LB (Live Bloggings).

Here is some stuff to hype ya’ up for tonites showcase clash, on ESPN 2 @ 10pm:

- Dema Kovalenko is dying to get into tonights game, and he tells the Desert News all about it. He disses on Coach Osorio HARD. I mean REALLY hard. Vintage Dema folks . . . give it a read.

- RSL President Bill Manning is absolutely glowing about this historic event in Utah history. Salt Lake hasn’t partied like this since James Smith . . .

- And the Red Bulls? Well, Osorio is taking on all responsibility for the teams recent play. Matter of fact, he thinks they are pressing too much. So he had them practice defensive drills this week, and kept practice lively. Will that lead to a looser squad tonight? Or a LOSER squad? We shall see . . .

Join me at 10pm tonight for the live blog (which, as always, will take place in the comments section)! And please, RSVP below . . . .

    70th:

Beckerman with a rocket shot that is just shy over the crossbar! That was close . . . and the Bulls are falling so far defensively right now.

Angel and Borchers are having words and giving each other the fish eye. Angel went in with both feet, cleats up, and no call. Borchers didn’t like it.

    75: Another RB Corner . . .

What an unattractive and dispirited game! There was no spark, no magic…we need that creative tandem clicking up top off an amazing mid, someone who can feed like Valderama did… Mathis was ducked down and whine worse than a woman! Not a red! Okay I am so not cheered and JCO needs to cut and add in Jan. big time.

p.s. I missed most the 1st half as I was watching a great documentary on Colombia on pbs, so if they were magnificent maybe I missed it, lol! Hate to be negative but keep fighting and build it in Jan. cuz I see whats missing, clearly.

this team has been consistently incapable of keeping possession, holding the ball, and finding scoring chances by playing on the ground since the departure of Amado Guevara and Youri Djorkaeff. and I attribute that to Mo and alexi
