LUKE RODGERS – DENIED!

By: Dave Martinez | April 13th, 2010

lukerodgersAccording to the Daily Mail, Luke Rodgers had his work permit denied, casting serious doubt on when or if he will ever be able to join the Red Bulls. As we chronicled earlier, he had a bit of a bar scrum not too long ago, and it wound up costing him more than the legally imposed penalty. What has been described as a “fantastic” offer for the 28 year old English striker is now in serious jeopardy.

Luke is a fantastic player. He can play on either wing or down the center. He has a great eye for goal and always gives 110%. Luke is a great bloke and far from a "head case". Yes he is a firey character thats that has got into a little trouble, he isn't the first and won't be the last. All I know is he will be missed down at the lane.
Good luck Luke on where it takes you. You will always be loved by the boys in the kop.

Some fire -- why not from Luke Rodgers? -- would be welcome during some of those desultory midsummer matches when neither club looks as if it wants to be on the pitch. (Not unlike the Chivas match.)

I am in the minority and wish we signed him. Seems like he would have provided some fire (according to my English friends). We have to remembeer the year we had in 09. Any fire and fresh talent should be welcome.
