Good thing Cichero did not play cause is He did, Moreno probably would have taken himself out at the half, thus having some other player take the shot and scoring…..Moreno fears Pietra and Cichero lol!

Good effort….JPA should have put away that game in the 85th min…I’m still wonderin how that missed.

Um I agree with Dave in this one. Pietra wasn’t conducing the offense because that’s not his job. He’s in charge of breaking things up and getting rid of danger, and he does this very well.

Conway had a good game, but he would’ve had a horrible one if Pietra didn’t break all of DC’s plays.

Conway still had the stronger game. Look at the free kicks that Pietravallo took and no one was in the area. Look at the passes where he looks for someone down field and blasts it ten yards past the target.
I’m not saying he didnt make stops. He just made awful passes. In my opinion, he is the reason why the offense never got going (on top of Osorio not bringing in Rojas earlier).

Wow, I completely disagree. Conways biggest challenges were on balls that weren’t event on net (see the first half). He did have an excellent game, but it wasnt out of this world or anything.

You didnt watch Pietravallo play against DC. When he launched the ball, it was usually to get it out of danger. When he needed to connect, on a long low percrntage, he did. But most of his passes were of the quick touch, high percentage variety. There was a period in the 2nd where DC couldnt even touch the ball, and Pietra was a big part of it (remember, when Leitch ruined it with a bad pass?).

Moreover, he single handedly got into Morenos head the entire game, getting in his face, having Moreno yelling instead of concentrating – Pietra had an excellent game (and not just because he’s Argie). Also keep in mind he was the sole CDM, backing up the new combo of CBs in Boyens and Jimenez. Take his whole performance into consideration, and then get back to me.

Someone didnt watch pietravallo play. He was the reason why the game wasnt fluid. He stopped DC a bunch of times but every time he got the ball he would launch it 30+ yards down field for a low percentage pass. On top of that, I dont think he connected once on those long passes. Conway is easily the man of the match. I dont know what game you were watching.
