My Punishment aka I Never Welch On Bets.

By: Dave Martinez | March 20th, 2009

Hey, Red Bulls fans, this post may say Dave is writing it, but it comes to you from Laurie over on Seattle Offside.

Great game last night, huh?

Oh, wait. Sorry. Forgot where I was for a second.

Seriously, though, Red Bulls are probably my third favorite team, after Seattle and the Galaxy, so I know what your boys are capable of. Can’t say I’m all that sorry they didn’t bring it last night, because 33,000 of us got to experience the adrenaline high of winning our inaugural game in a packed stadium. So on a personal level, I’m extremely happy. But I do know that this game doesn’t define your team.

I also really appreciate the Red Bulls fans who stopped by my blog to leave gracious comments. It’s great to blog on a site where the rivalries are good-hearted and the readers are good people. AND, since Dave has been sending me regular updates on the creativity you have shown in designing the pictures you were going to force me to run on MY page? I am heaving a huge sigh of relief that my boys came through for me.

(But I hope Dave can make more bets with the other bloggers so that your ingenuity is not wasted.)

In closing, I’d like to say you guys are great and I love your team. I wish good things for both of us in the upcoming season. (But just a little bit better for us. I mean, why shouldn’t a Western Conference team win the Western Conference?)

And thanks, Dave, for following through with the bet! You’re awesome!

(Thanks to Andy for the pic!)

CUCS – its tough to discuss anything with a giant freddie ball bag hanging over our comments lol. But the back line will be significantly better with Johnson and Pacheco pushing up. Lets face it; Mendes and Goldthwaite arent those players. And Boyens and Petke will never be seen paired up again. Things will look up (just as long as we don’t look UP to that pic up there)

Dave, maybe you need some counsel when deciding on bets? Has RBNY not taught us anything…

    Bring Jeff Parke back!!!!!

Where are the new players? This is the same line-up as last year. It’s always Angel with no help. Can’t wait for Khano and Celades… I think…
