Nick is a star, plain and simple. He’s gonna shine no matter where he plays. The Red Bulls were foolish to let go of his potential, and the Union are scoring big time in this deal. Convert that name to long term memory, it’s one you’ll be hearing a lot of soon.

I would have let D.Richards go, however, maybe something there that the org plans to bring in, or use D.R to trade or something, but it is fascinating to let a prospect like that unprotected and with his low salary (please MLS, have a minimum salary cap at 50K at least). Nick will benefit from Nowak. I’m afraid Philly might spring up a good squad in a few years and compete for the Cup (I hope not though).

Thanks for the heads up on this article, Dave.

I, like many other folks, didn’t really know what Nowak and Co. were thinking up to the draft, and I hadn’t heard of this guy before then (probably because he wasn’t a starter).

He provided all the “right” answers and sounds like a pretty mature kid, even though he looks like an assassin in his player profile picture. I’m excited what he’ll show us when he steps onto the field down at Seaport Drive (well, Qwest Field, the Linc, and BMO Field come before that, heh).

Good kid. I hope he works out with the Union to be honest because I think he has USMNT potential if the right things click for him.
