It's selfish fools like Binkley who treat public events as if they are the only person in attendance that make me want to go to sporting events and movies less and less. So he helps fun the supporters club? That means he should be able to curse out a Mom in public? Sounds like a classy guy.

NYRB has been awesome thus far in working towards resolving this. I will be asking Dave to write a quick update with how this ends up.

And no worries, if I'm not allowed to come back to The Meadowlands again, I will be maintaining my season ticket subscription and I'll be at the home opener in the new stadium sometime next year.

Binks:
It's good to hear from you on this one. Ideally, NJSEA should know that they're coming into a tense situation and that their job is to separate the parties and keep the peace without exacerbating the situation. I think my earlier point stands, but you and Dave are right to say that you were railroaded there. Walking you out of the section, followed by a little talk while emotions cooled on all sides would have been a much, much better way to deal with it, and one that NJSEA should be teaching its recruits.
This growing supporter section vs. parents with children clash is an interesting one, and one that's going to need to be sorted out sooner, rather than later, I imagine.

Thanks for the additional thoughts, Binks, and keep us updated on your efforts. Hopefully NYRB is busting their asses to get you back in the seats.

Andrew- I do agree that it would've been wise of me to get an usher, look to be reseated, or even just laave the section. But I was so floored that someone would come out and tell someone else how to behave because they made the choice to bring their kids to a sports event and I am now responsible for their ears and obviously influence their upbringing.

Because I live in the DC area and live for my next trip back to where people are real. They are outspoken. Unafraid to speak about hotbutton topics because of mutual respect. I feel equally disrespected as I'm sure this woman and her husband do.

Since I've had those seats in Section 107 Row 1, I've had kids make paper airplanes and throw them from behind me and get hit in the head, watch them run back and fourth in front of me and also stand in front of my seat and lean up against the wall so that they could see while obstructing my view from the seats I buy annually. Everytime, I've been at the mercy of their parents making choices about where thier responsibility lies. Where were the ushers to maintain that then? Should those kids be escorted out by 6 security guards and banned for life as well since people have been banned in ESC for throwing streamers or paper up until this past year? Of course not. But it does offer another example as to how we interpret a problem and react to it. Even though the rules are clearly defined.

rojaynegra- I'm not interested in being politically correct. I'm interested in being honest and expressing myself. My choice to be myself rather than follow the role of the politically correct has, at times, been costly, but I do believe that my integrity is more important than not offending someone's sensitivities.

We have been going through this all year at our stadium. (university of utah) The supporters section has been targeted and it is getting worse and worse and very well may escalate in to a supporters/security brawl god help them. We only hope we can get through the three remaining games until we move in to our new house!!!!

Good luck you guys!
