No Kidding – Diego Jimenez is a Red Bull

By: Dave Martinez | July 8th, 2008

Ladies and Gentlemen, left back may have just been filled. With a left foot.

Young Mexican Diego Jimenez, former starter for Tecos and the Mexican Under 23 Nationals, is on his way to New Jersey, so says Brian Lewis at the Post (great blog by the way). The best part? He already has a green card – so none of that waiting forever to see him on the pitch stuff.

Osorio made a big splash with his post game comments earlier in the week. Unrepentently, he has followed them up. With an attacking mid signed (Rojas), a destroyer (Pietravallo) and now, a left footed left back, Osorio will be looking to change the culture much like he did with the Fire last season – a midseason overhaul.

Red Bull players continue to ponder their futures.

“We’re turning the corner.” – My favorite Osorio quote from Lewis and friends. I don’t think I have ever heard a coach be so bold. Especially not in a major market professional league.

Great day all in all. Another signing is on its way for our sieve of a defense. A Honduran striker prospect with a familiar name is connected to our Bulls, pleasantly suprising me this morning (and probably a few of you out there too – I think I uncovered it this part of the hemisphere! Pat on my back !). And the front office continues to cover up the recent stink on the field with some great news off of it.

Keep it up.

Well, besides the on field stink stuff.

WTG Mr. Scoop! Phew… good deal, and a gringa wife, cool! I was gonna say, *Sign Already, take the difference outa my check*, lol! Being a Gator with Spurrier, Riley with the Heat, and recently with Donadoni, JCO isnt that bold to me! Gutsy though. Forward march!!! …pun intented.

Riley is a good one. So is Parcell. Lou Piniella. I guess there are a few.

but the comment I relate to best is Louis – Red Bulls have to get better in the video game realm!

This whirlwind of signings has really surprised me. And I could easily see two more signings to come (Possibly George Welcome and Gabe Cichero)

wow. you have just got to give it up both to Osario and to ownership here.

Osario has the vision and bravery to go after an international squad and to upgrade the roster without regard for conservatively or sentimentality.

Ownership allows him to do so.

Im really excited not only that we have a potentially revamped team so quickly – granted we are missing some striking help for JPA – but that the team at least is at about .500 which isnt the worst place to come back from.

Very exciting. Lets hope the similar backgrounds can add to the chemistry these new guys are going to have to build.

I wonder how Renya will play with this group? I think well actually! He can be a more stabilizing force, less of an playmaker and more of a natural role for him IMO.

Thanks for the Diego props, he and Ray Hudson can be my G.M.s, lol! Heres my best BBQ recipe*** You get a couple Americans, mix in a few Mexicans, sprinkle in 2 Venezuelans, stir it up w/ Argentines, the more the better, and add 3 to 4 Colombians for flavor! p.s. If not enough Argentines, use Uraguayos or Brasileros.***

I just recovered from that game. This is a very pleasant surprise Dave. Our D can not continue to miss assignment after assignment without reprecussions. This is awesome way to go JCO.

Rob – couldnt agree more. I am super happy with Osorio right now. Maybe he was hamstrung prior to the season, and now has a little freedom. Whatever the reason, he is sending a great message out.

Red Bull is being ivestigated for fraud. They ripped off 100’s of investors for over 20 million dollars. Just wanted you all to know how F**ked up this Austrian company really is.

So…care to speculate on who’s in and who’s out? Do you think performance in tonight’s match will make-or-break anyone, or do you think these decisions have already been made?
