next season....lets get some brasilians and portuguese into the newark area for next season....Angel..if you're hurt, wait until next year, get healthy. That turf is killing his knees..poor sap. With only 7,000 showing up anyway..lets play the rest of the games at some local park with grass....Biggest NYRB needs: 1 more central mid, 2 inside defenders, keep Kandji up top all the time. Let Angel come back for the ball.

we're screwed, dudes. the season is kaput. osorio has to go, and in his absence, i think the team could stop disgracing itself with this line-up:
-----angel---kandji
rojas---celades---mbuta/richards?
-------stammler
borman-goldie-petke-hall
--------conway
with pacheco, pietravallo, and smith as busts and with johnson hurt, this is what we've got. we really don't have anyone who can pass at RM, though. ubi is not the answer.
this is a time when fans accept defeat and cheer the lads on anyway. looking forward to next season in the new arena.

Dave,
Why is the time showing up 4 hours slower in my comments? I just posted a couple of messages at around 10:55 PM and the time showed to be 6:55PM

Thank you, Larry and Karlomabo. I thought I was the only one who noticed that Conway is no more. He's lethargic, slow and not what we need as our last line of defense. Please bring Danny back. I like that kid. He's a rookie but he's shown great desire and lots of potential. He needs to be a starter. He will only get better over time.

I see 2 major problems with this team and they are both resolved the same way - perhaps.

1}Our team is mostly playing well except that several times a match they completely brain fart and give a wide open unmarked opportunity to the opposing teams best player. Thats how 90% of the goals against happen. Ive noticed that its usually Pacheco losing his man.

2}Our midfield is outmatched and lacks aggressiveness. We never play a ball forward with confidence and when we do its usually a hail mary type lob forward to Kandji or Richards to go one on one. Not acceptable. We need to pass the ball with purpose and precision and create opportunities for Angel, Kandji and co to score. We have the finishers, just not the playmakers. Boy oh boy do we miss Van Der Bergh, as I predicted.

My solution is simple. Move Pacheco out of the defense and into the midfield. Hes about the only one who looks to push the ball anyway and hes seemingly distracted in defense by the potential for a counter ever now and again. He wants to play forward, let him.

Id start Mendes, Goldthwaite {whos been great}, Boynes and Borman in the back.
Id start Rojas, Celades {whos looked very good too} and Pacheco in the midfield.
Id start Angel,Kandji and Richards up front.

Alternately Id bring Richards off the bench and start Hall, whos looked good.

We need to be more aggressive playing the ball forward and more stable in defense.

for starters.

But I think those moves would be a major help.

With Rojas, Pacheco and Boynes out of the roster and Red-card Johnson, who Ive liked, gone, we are typically shorthanded.

But that shouldnt change out strategy. It should be the same. Play the ball forward, control possession, stick to your markers on D especially the opposing teams main man!!!!

How can we get any team chemistry when Osorio is always making changes? And it's not like he makes minor adjustments, he completely changes players positioning. I think it's time that the front office sees him out the door. As I've said on here before, Osorio has a losing record since joining the team. How much more do we have to lose before we get a coach who knows how to win? But I know it's not completely his fault, considering the players know how to pass as well as third graders. And have TERRIBLE first touches. And that isn't just because of the turf. They have crappy ball handling skills home and away. We need a coach who gets back to basics, and keeps it simple, and just wins.
