Your resident RBNY slacker (that’s me) is headed overseas for most the summer in just a few days, and since they don’t show MLS in Portugal I’m going to have to bow out of the Red Bull blogging gig.

Never fear, though: Chris will continue bringing you RBNY news, unaffected by a pro-Dema bias. Plus, if you’re a Red Bull (The team, not the drink. Actually, both would be ok, too — as long as it’s not just the drink.) maniac with a TV, time on your hands, and a firm-ish grasp of the English language, bother bob [at] theoffside [dot] com — if you get really lucky, maybe he’ll let you love Dema in this space, too.

  This is me in a ferocious fit of jealousy. I’ll be making it to France eventually, but probably not until next summer. (And probably not during soccer season, which is a tragedy.)

  Did you figure out how to get tickets to the game in Portugal? And how long will you be over there?

  Damn … MLS bloggers are dropping like flies, or like Cristiano in the box … enjoy Portugal. Catching any Euro 2008 qualies? I’ll be headed over to Scotland as well this summer (though not until late July) and coming back just after the Scotland-Lithuania match at Hampden. Good luck - have fun over there.

  While this comes as something of a surprise, it sounds like a great opportunity. You have done a great job and I will do my best to uphold the high standard you have set.

  I will also continue to report on the antics of dema and co, and have no fear, you bias remains alive and well with me =)

  I have NOT yet scored tickets, Laurie, something which, needless to say, is causing me much distress. I’m back in August, just in time for the Beckham Landing in NJ, thank goodness.

  Ian, Portugal play away both games in June, unfortunately, so I’ll probably miss them both. Are you going to the Scotland-Lithuania match? Lucky!

  Chris, I’m very relieved to hear you’ll still be bringing the Dema — I feel much better about leaving now. (:
