I agree with Rob. Freddie is a second choice behind Marquez. If we fail to get Marquez and we have the option to get Freddie, his contract should not extend more than a year. Wasting a DP spot on him would be foolish.

Rob-trying the young guys cannot hurt the way the team is playing i know the open cup was there tournament to shine and did not happen but everytime i see Irving and Tony i just can understand why not bring this guys of the bench instead of playing Roy all over the pitch we already know what Roy brings to the table and he’s not getting any younger or better at this time of his career
the team is in 2nd place with current roster what makes u think that bringing Marquez or Freddie instanly its going to bring the cup? Chemistry anybody. Take advantage of Henry presence right all i heard is that has raise the level of intensity in practice and without a doubt it would be reflected on the pitch as well.
I’ll said it again let’s find out what we have first with the baby bulls and wait until next year for that 3rd DP. This team is going to make the playoff no doubt in my mind wich means that they most likely be playing in concacaf champions league next year and maybe superliga that might a better scenario to lure a young up and coming player as a 3rd DP. please no more Dane Richards as a starter enough is enough…

I wouldn’t mind taking him on for the rest of the season IF AND ONLY IF Marquez doesn’t work out. Also, I would prefer this on the terms that he plays out this contract without an extension beyond this season. This would allow us to target another DP next season.

Lou – Although the club said that there plan is to win next season, this team has a chance to do something this year. I do not agree with throwing in the towel at this point and trying out all of our young players in MLS matches. Let’s see where we are in September, if things are looking bleak at that point, give the young guys a run out in the final 4-5 matches and see what you got. We’re in 2nd place in the conference right now, it would be nuts to do that, IMO.

BTW – my wife is hoping they sign Freddie Ljungberg! She thinks he’s handsome.
