POLL RESULTS! (Thanks for the participation)

By: Dave Martinez | October 25th, 2007

Hey everyone!

I guess everyone DOES like polls huh?

Anyway, here are your results. Some surprises for sure. Check it out.

WHO IS THE RBNY 2007 MVP?

MVP: JUAN PABLO ANGEL 88.9%

That was easy. Other votes went to Jozy Altidore and Jeff Parke. Both respectable. But Angel has been not only our own, but the leagues MVP this season.

Instead of me being repetitious, let me refer you to a posting last month on this very topic.

So far so good! We are agreed on this one arent we? BUT . . . .

WHO IS OUR RBNY LEAST VALUABLE PLAYER for 2007?

LVP: KEVIN GOLDTHWAITE 40%

Now, my lovely readers, we have a problem here.

Though I understand the voting, I really don’t think the “reward” recipient is THAT deserving.

Sure, he was our replacement for Dunivant.

Ok, so he barely started any games for us.

And granted, when he did start, it was shameful.

But is he that much better than CHRIS LEITCH?

Furthermore, #2 in the running, with 34% was CLAUDIO REYNA?! And third at a distant 11% was Ronnie Waterreus. But again, are ANY of these players THAT much better than LEITCH?!?!?

I voted for Leitch. Though he is gutsy to no end, and has speed for days, his decision making skills are way off and his football smarts are not good enough to cover for his lack of technical prowess. Claudio Reyna and Ronnie W can AT THE VERY LEAST say that they were injured, and being so, it changed their play. Excuses none the less, but I would definitely say that both these men had a positive impact on the play, in certain times during the season, for the Bulls.

What has Leitch done? Anything?

And Goldthwaite, though a bad trade, shouldnt bear the brunt of all the blame. Some lame brain approved the transaction.

Just my take. Couldnt have disagreed with you guys more. THIS TIME.

HOW FAR WILL RBNY GO THIS POSTSEASON?

SEMIFINAL (Eastern Championship Series) 50%

You know, I would be completely cool with this result, especially since second most votes, with 20.6% of the vote, went to us going to the FINALS and WINNING.

But i am not cool with this vote at all. And here is why . . . . .

WHO WILL WIN MLS CUP?

DC UNITED 26.5%

YOU BASTARDS!!! You let DC UNITED get the favorites spot, when RBNY trailed by a single digit? ugh. I am hurt. And disgusted. EVEN IF YOU DONT BELIEVE THE BULLS CAN PULL IT OFF, this vote should have never happened.

RBNY came in SECOND with 23.5%.

And how do I read this?

Well, this is telling me that the fans think that RBNY and DCU will face yet again, this time in a semifinal clash, and we will lose. AGAIN.

COME ON. TIME TO GIVE A BIG BOOT TO THE PAST ALA HULK HOGAN. TIME TO MOVE ON!

Whats next? The Red Sox get an endorsement from Mayor Guiliani? Oh wait . . . .

AND FINALLY . . . . DO YOU FEEL BADLY ABOUT THE EARLY DEPARTURE OF DAVID BECKHAMS LA GALAXY?

THE NO’S HAVE IT! 54.5%

. . . . And i actually voted yes!

I love RBNY. But I must confess - The interests of this league are a priority to me. And Beckham in the Playoffs after this amazing one of a kind season, would have been the cherry on top. Hobbled or not, ESPN, with no other true competition, would have pushed even harder to put MLS on the forefront.

But god bless you guys. You have stronger hearts than I. But I think his early exit was a dextriment to our league.

======================================

Guys, thanks again for the participation. It really gave me a chance to see the game through your eyes. Ill have more to come. Till then, THANK YOU, and GO BULLS!
