You know I would swear off RBNY forever if Landon ever set foot here, right? At least Jozy isn't smug and lazy (yet).

Thanks for the input on Reyna, guys -- I definitely get distracted by other players (esp Dema, who I irrationally adore) and will try to watch him more closely during the next home game.

Reyna's role has changed over the past years. He is much more of a defensive midfielder these days, so his work goes a bit unnoticed. He now works the 'angles' as opposed to running up and down. That's one thing that worries me about Reyna and Dema playing together...both will run out of gas as the season progress. I enjoyed watching the game last night and might even head out to Giants stadium to join the few that go.

Regarding Reyna: At the stadium, my Dad and I decided to concentrate on Reyna and see if he was worth it. At first it looked like he wasn't really in the game, like you suggest. But we started to notice that he was subtly directing and communicating to the other players, especially in the transition. He was giving the defensive line that little bit of extra information that let them keep a better shape, stay focused, etc. We thought that this was really impressive. The back line did really well last night and I think that's because of Reyna: the individuals could concentrate on their individual roles, confident that the rest of the space was under control.

This is not something you can see on TV, because it happens far away from the ball. We'll be watching this a lot this season (I hope).

I have to admit that I didn't watch this match, but just after looking at the highlights it seemed to be one of better quality MLS matches so far this season.

Yeah, the Mathis sending off was ridiculous. A yellow card at most for coming spikes out. That ref should be suspended for a game just for that.

With Robbie Fowler not coming to the Revolution, I think I'll back the Red Bulls again this year.
