Red Bulls Iron Chef @ The ESPNZone: Videos and Pics

Taking some well deserved time to goof off, a few Red Bulls players participated in an Iron Chef Cook Off at the infamous ESPNZone in Times Square. Each team was given thirty minutes to put together a dish, accompanied by a chef to guide them along. They would then be judged by a media panel that included reknowned pulitzer prize winning food critics, and on the other end of the spectrum - my personal fave - Shep Messing.

Each dish was judged on creativity, presentation and taste, on a scale of 1-5. In the end, it was a late coming but strongly put together rookie team of Luke Sassano, Danleigh Borman, David Roth and Sinisa Ubiparipovic, the “Hot Carls” (I am not joking), who took the competition by storm with some improvised dish that seemed to have a little bit of everything. Conway and Patterson Sewell, aptly named Philly and Dingo, came in 2nd, with a little help from Shep Messing, who couldnt help but give the keepers straight 5’s. And rounding out the top 3 were the team of Kevin Golthwaite and Andrew Boyens - “The Sultans of Scampi.”

Chris Leitch and Seth Stammler were heavy early favorites since Chris’s father is a restauranteur, but they were bounced. And Carlos Mendes and Jon Wolyniec were given a fire extinguisher for the efforts. Literally. That bad. Some Colombian dish that the judges found not edible at all.
