Tim Howard And Friends Take On MLS All Stars
By: Dave Martinez | April 30th, 2009
MLS announced Wednesday that Valencia Everton will be the club to take on the Major League Soccer All Stars in this years midseason classic. And of course, that would mean the return of Metro hero, turned National Team anchor, Timmy Howard!
Howard is arguably the most successful Major League Soccer export, not only keeping Everton as one of the top teams overall for the Premiership for two years running, but more recently, single handedly eliminating the Red Devils of Manchester from the FA Cup semifinals with a thrilling penalty kick face off.
Howard is no stranger to the All Star format, but this time around, he will be playing the visitor/outsiders role (though it is obviously a home coming of sorts).
The All Star game is slated for Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Real Salt Lake, on July 29th.
Though Everton FC is not the sexiest opponent, it will be a chance to check out the local hero in action (barring any international dates and commitments of course).
What do you think about Tim Howard and his Everton comrades coming to town? Share and discuss!
