Trialist Sainey Tourey Signed. Ubiparipovic, Vindicated.

By: Dave Martinez | August 29th, 2008

After trialing with the team the past two weeks, Gambian youth player Sainey Tourey has signed on the dotted line for the Red Bulls and will be available for tommorrows DC United clash.

Tourey has trialed with Arsenal in the past. He has also been a part of the Gambian Under 20’s and 17’s, playing a key role as a stud forward. In club play this season, he helped his home team Wallidan FC win the league title, and was the teams leading scorer with 9 goals. And the Gambian media has even given the young prodigy a nickname – “Ballack.”

So what does this have to do with our boy Ubi?

Ubiparipovic has been bumped up to senior roster level, likely earning his original 33k a year where he belongs. Why? Because they needed room on the developmental roster. Thats right – Tourey is a developmental player.

Some good news to end a week that started well, but ended nearly on a sour note.
