We had nothing to lose and everything to play for. Houston assumed that they would be into the next round.

Honestly, aside from what the Red Bulls did today which was incredible; Houston came across as very whiny and pathetic. They lacked any sort of professionalism.....Kinnear is complaining already...I mean goals win the game and having killer goaltending does not hurt, but I dont know the Dynamo just seem to lack class and they should also admit they looked pass the Bulls.

AMAZING. GO RED BULLS.

AMAZING Game.

Cepero - 11. WOW. He won the game for us. Amazing. That recovery when he lost the ball and jumped over Ching, the kick save, getting flipped head over heals to head the ball. Deserved the clean sheet. Man of the match.

Leitch - 8. Was solid at the back and contributed well with his throw-ins.

Boyens - 8. Again, very solid.

Jimenez - 9. Amazing game. Best he's been since he has been on the team. Great job covering others' mistakes and being an impenetrable wall out there.

Goldthwaite - 7. Good overall but had a few lapses where DeRo was able to take advantage.

Sassano - 7. Same deal as with Goldy. Solid overall but there were a few moments where he could have played better.

Richards - 10. Amazing game. Flawless. Was involved with every goal: scored one, assisted one, and won the PK. Showed that he actually CAN dribble the ball.

Van Den Bergh - 8. Wasn't involved with the attack as much as I'd like, but when he did have the ball he did well with it. The unsung hero of our team.

Ubiparapovic - 7. Did well early on but then he put on his Rojas costume and was invisible for a while.

Wolyneic - 10. Dude gives 150% hustle and heart. Before the game I was questioning why he was starting over Kandji but now I see why. He was determined all game and I'm so happy he finally got his goal. Deserved it very much so.

Angel - 7. Not his best game of the season. Had a chance or two where I expected him to get by a defender and he didn't. Hope he plays better in Salt Lake City.

Juan Carlos Osorio - 9. Great job, JCO. Stuck with his gut and the same XI from last game and it worked. AND he left Woly on when I figured Kandji would replace him. Also he learned from last game (isn't that a novel concept?!?) and didn't put on Peitravallo. Only thing I would have liked to see was Rojas on for Ubi late in the game because Rojas holds the ball well.

Im against player trades and rotations, and coaching changes, when they can be avoided.

chemistry is crucial as is confidence.

that said, its been astounding to me that Cichero has been playing at all with how much hes single handedly forced me to vomit in my mouth, chew it, swallow it and vomit it again. Cichero doesnt need to play anywhere. Not even in pick up games. He needs to have his visa revoked.

Pietravallo has been a fav of mine but hes also been making some poor decisions recently. Im ok with benching him if the goal is to bring on more attacking midfielders and pressing the offense considering how much faster we are than Houston. Also how hopeless our last line of defense is regardless of midfield.

I dont really understand why Rojas was subbed. we need playmaking. hes not doing it. But besides DVB who is?

Martha - we agree to disagree. I just hate seeing so much turnover in the lineup. I am also a defense first guy, but it shouldnt be defense all the time. Ideology, I know. But hopefully Osorio can pull one out of his hat come Sunday.

Well said, but totaly disagree with you Soccer Gods of Knowledge. IF JCO had Angel plus 10 Amore Mio Del Piero like players, or even 10 of the caliber of Mi Amor Colombiano, whom is close to ADP!, then yeah you got your starting 11 every week. . . but hellooo this is mls. I ADMIRE this coach, win, lose or draw.

The thing about people "trying new things": you really need to show that you're not only trying things, but LEARNING things as well, from both failures AND successes.

And also, people need to remember that "new things" also include (and should include) things that are not necessarily YOUR thing.

I wonder, though. I wonder.
