CRISTIANO RONALDO to RBNY! (sort of)

All Stars for Hope is a charity organization that features some of World Footballs most recognizable athletes, led by Mikael Silvestre of Arsenal. In an attempt to raise money for schools around the world, Silvestre has enlisted Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Thierry Henry and a host of other luminaries to take on the Red Bulls June 14th 2009 at Giants Stadium
in a friendly exhibition.

What was I saying about a slow offseason?

Last year featured many soccer fundraising events, including Barcelona’s anti-malaria campaign, and Claudio Reyna’s Showdown in Chinatown. But taking all of that into consideration, New York hasn’t seen a collection of unbridled talent like this since the days of the Cosmos. Surely, this charity event will be one of the hottest tickets of the summer.
