He is not that fast anymore, but the man got the skills and he knows how to use them. I think for MLS standards he could do ok. You should go to the Brazil blog. I postd about him last week. He fucked up in a match for the copa do brasil by missing a penalty, and last sunday palmeiras just tied against a small club playing at home, which almost eliminated them from the state league.
