Jozy Transfer Talk Includes Hull and Fulham
By: Dave Martinez | August 4th, 2009
Here is something that will help the Red Bull Nation pass the time as they await their next meaningful fixture against Trinidads W Connection; Jozy Altidore is still a hot commodity overseas. People have not forgotten about his performance in the Confederations Cup, and his services are being sought after in the Premiership.
Hull, Everton and Fulhamerica are all in the running. My fingers are crossed for Fulham, of course (and wouldn’t that be cool to see Jozy in black and red again?). One report out of England sites a Hull City offer of 6.5 million pounds for the youngster, roughly the equivalent of what Villarreal paid for the kid in the first place.
Hull and Fulham in particular offer a competitive environment for Jozy to earn some much needed playing time. Being a Fulham fan myself, I can tell you that every year, around midseason, the biggest question mark is usually ‘who will be our target forward up top?’ Well, all I have to say to that would be “Jozy to the rescue!”
Local product done good! What do you think about Jozy’s transfer talk?

Going to the EPL is the worst thing that could happen to Jozy in terms of technical development. Like someone once mentioned in another blog, we all know he is fast and strong and those attributes will help him in that style of play. But that would be it for Jozy and he would basically limit himself to that style of game.
If Villarreal is seriously considering selling him, does it mean the club thinks Jozy is not made for and cannot cut it in La Liga? Málaga (eighth last season) has also been mentioned, and they are looking for a number 9, but I think they need a more polished player to make a run this season.

I think it will be great, as long as he gets some PT.

I would love to see Jozy at Fulham, if only because I don’t think they’ll be in a relegation battle like Hull is bound to be in. That said, I can see him playing every match at Hull (whereas maybe 2/3 of matches at Fulham) and being a shining star among a pretty mediocre team, which would bode well for future transfer activity.

Nope. That was a rumor floated about. But no truth to it.

I believe that this move will be a great move for Hull, Jozy, and US soccer as a whole. He should get a lot of playing time so he will be fit for the World Cup. plus it will be very fun to watch him progress through his career where ever he may go.
