Basking in the Afterglow
By: Martha | May 2nd, 2007
Sorry for the radio silence over the last few days, pesky stuff like jobs and travel have been keeping us from our keyboards. Really, there’s not been much news so far this week, apart from trickle of MLS power rankings and teams of the month, all of which are so RBNY-laden that you want to print them out and keep them, just in case it all goes terribly wrong (or someone sneaks up and pinches you).
Among the few Red Bull odds and ends to sneak out over the past few days are these:
•Markus Schopp has recovered from his sports hernia operation and is back in training. Is the great Dane headed for the bench?
•Still no word on when Angel’s work permit will come through, but he does seem to be training with the team so, as the folks at Big Soccer have worked out, either a)he’s cheating, b)the permit has arrived, stealth-fashion, or c)its arrival is imminent and he’s been told he can practice. As long as it’s not option A, I’m happy.
•HDNet is available in roughly 1.9% (Give or take a few percentage points. In other words, that’s a complete guess, but the actual number is damn small.) of the households in the New York metropolitan areas, so none of us will be able to watch the RSL game. And, since MLSlive has that idiotic rule of not showing any games on national TV, no matter how obscure the network, we won’t won’t be able to see it online, either. Oh, how I love watching football by refreshing text updates.
