“El Zurdo” Jorge Rojas - Red Bull

By: Dave Martinez | June 29th, 2008

With a smiling face and a crowd of fans, El Zurdo Rojas not only confirmed the rumors, but took it all a step forward - he announced his arrival as a Red Bull.

Just as we have been speculating all week about the status of Rojas, reading reports from South America claiming he was signed while this side of the Americas has kept quiet, we run into this.

Rojas, at an autograph signing, was asked about the rumored Red Bulls move. His answer?

“Everything is done. I am really happy with the way things have turned out.” According to Venezuela is Futbol, he will be leaving this Monday to meet with Coach Osorio.

Its coming from the horses mouth now folks. We have ourselves a signing.

With the addition of Rojas, the Bulls will be inheriting a tried and true team captain of a competitive and fierce South American side. Osorio has stated his desire to turn “The Lefty” from a wing man to a CAM, but Rojas has also been known to play an excellent left wing back.

No matter what, El Zurdo is an excellent addition to a team that needs a push to get them above .500 football.

What are your thoughts? Can you believe what you are reading?

all week man - south American buzz. This has by far been the most credible but I feel Zurdo won’t be manning our backlines but rather our midfield.

Any signing’s a good signing for this team… Now to offload the deadwood (I’m looking at you John Wolyniec) and find a true striker.

Maybe someone can get Angel the ball now…..Byee Reyna! Watching Reyna play is like watchin babies die. Yea Dave I had a feeling he would play the midfield, should makes us much better with Rojas, Ubi, Borman and Richards.
    Welcome Rojas!

np man. btw this guy’s definitely not playing as defensive mid, he might go back and help out, but he definitely has an attacking mindset.

this is an exciting FIRST STEP and very far from satisfying this teams needs overall.

however its remarkable that we sit at .500 during this stretch

    a good signing.

I don’t know if may peope out here realize what a great signing this is for us. Rojas will definitely add a bite to the attack where there currently is none.

    Oh and hello NLR!
