And check out the highlights for this season, after the jump:
HIGHLIGHTS:
- We start with the known knowns – The Bulls open up Red Bull Arena against the Chicago Fire March 27th; a nationally televised game for ESPN.
- Speaking of Nationally televised games, the Bulls will be a part of four others as well:+ May 20th against the Crew
+ August 8th @ Chicago (Sunday night ESPN2)
+ September 24th @ the Galaxy (Friday night)
+ October 21st against New England (The final game of the season.- Don’t expect 4-5 game clusters of home and away games like last season; for instance, the Bulls first 10 games are an even split – 5 home and 5 away.
- Up to the World cup break, the Bulls play 12 games – 8 against playoff teams from last season. Seven of these games will be played at home.
- The first game against expansion Philadelphia Union is April 24th at Red Bull Arena. The other half of that will be played October 16th in Philly (a great road game supporters will be salivating for – provide that the Bulls do well this season of course).
- There is a Toronto road game scheduled for Saturday! That should put a smile on the faces of many ESC members who have wanted a strong date to send in an equally strong contingent to the North (August 24th).
- “The Beckham Game” – August 14th.
- How about the big derbies?+ DC United makes its first trip to RBA July 10th. May 1st will be the first major away game for the Bulls season at DC.
+ They visit New England on May 29th, with their RBA debut set for the season finale.
+ And if you hate Houston like so many others, June 1st, they play at RBA, and the return leg will follow July 31st.- Their longest road trip of the season? A three week stretch that starts in July and ends August against Houston, Chicago and Columbus.
- The Bulls finish the season strong with 3 out of 4 October games played at home.
Immediately, this schedule seems much more fair than the mess of 2009. What are your thoughts on the schedule? Any games jump at you? Let me know what you think below.
