It’s Over
By: Dave Martinez | August 5th, 2009
The Red Bulls have absolutely nothing left to play for. After jumping to a 1-0 lead on a Wolyniec strike, the Bulls called it a night. Shame no one told W Connection, who must have been studying tape; they scored both goals within the final five minutes of the first half. Andre Touissant made the Red Bulls defense look silly, first juking Seth Stammler on a strike, and then capitalizing on a horrible Goldthwaite giveaway. And that’s about all it took.
The Bulls threw in the towel. And for the fans that made their way to the rubber jungle, I must commend you for not throwing in the towel yourselves. From the heights of success to the pits of despair, the Red Bulls have gone through a harder fall than Humpty Dumpty.
Now that the season is over, three months ahead of time, you really need to wonder when the ax will fall. When will the heads roll for this intolerable mess? I mean, it’s over. Done. A season can not be disturbed by changes in coaches and general managers when the team has absolutely nothing left to play for, can it? This embarassment has gone on long enough. It’s time for a change.
